Bruins Off Season Report 2016-08-23 Boston Bruins front office appears to be set with the forward core going into the 2016-17 MRFHL season. With the living legend, Jaromir Jagr locked up for another season it appears the Bruins have put a hold on acquiring another season veteran to assist their group of upcoming youngsters. While no one has officially solidified a roster spot it is expected that the Bruins will promote within. This year a number of rookies look to make a splash. Sam Bennett and Sam Reinhart have moved up the depth chart and expect to fill out the bottom two lines. While Oscar Lindberg and Nicolas Deslauriers could earn some ice time this year if he has a strong training camp. Left Wing – Centre – Right Wing: Nikita Kucherov – John Tavares – Jaromir Jagr James van Riemsdyk – Claude Giroux – Jakub Voracek Sam Bennett – Alexander Barkov – Devante Smith-Pelly Jonathan Drouin – Sam Reinhart – Nail Yakupov One area the Bruins are looking to bolster will be the backend. Bruins brass doesn’t seem settled on this area although they could be content heading into the season with the group they have. The addition of Vatanen and Severson in the off season will be watched closely. Joe Morrow and Brandon Gormely will also be looking to get minutes should the Bruins wish to opt making changes without going the trade route. Defense: Ryan McDonagh – Dan Girardi Morgan Rielly – Sami Vatanen Jonas Brodin – Damon Severson The Bruins have yet to decide if they will upgrade their back-up goalie behind Elliot. It is likely the will sniff around the league to see what is available.
