2012 MRFHL All-Star Game Preview

The 2012 MRFHL All-Star weekend has officially kicked off! This year the beautiful city of Boston will host the 2012 MRFHL All-Star Game. Fans, Players and hockey minds from around the league will travel to Boston.

As always two teams stacked with the most talent players in the world will square off.   This year’s General Managers selected to lead each team Vancouver’s Rino DiAntonio and New Jerseys JP Kiellerman versus Mark O’Byrne from Dallas and the host GM.

All-Star weekend officially kicked off with the All-Star Draft on Thursday night. Here is a breakdown of each roster:

Team Rino/JP

Forward:Pavel Datsyuk, Alex Ovechkin, Joe Thornton, Jerome Iginla, Nicklas Backstrom, Ryan Kesler, Patrick Sharp, Matt D’Agostini, Andy McDonald, Teemu Selanne, Brian Gionta, TJ Oshie

Defense:Niklas Lidstrom, Keith Yandle, Marc Andre Bergeron, Carlo Colaiacovo, James Wisniewski, Brett Clark

Goal:Pekka Rinne, Carey Price, Corey Crawford

Team Steven/Mark

Forward:Sidney Crosby, Ryan Getzlaf, Marian Gaborik, Steve Stamkos , Jason Spezza, David Legwand, Tomas Plekanec, Joe Pavelski , Maxim Afinagenov, Derek Roy, Alexei Kovalev, Jason Blake

The 2012 All-Star Game is sure to be a blast with various activities made to help fans and players to interact. General Managers from around the league assemble on All-Star weekend during the days attending Quarterly league meetings held to discuss various agenda items such as rules and/or financial concerns. Most GM’s can’t help but talk a bit of trade at these conferences and as a result there has been some flurry of trade activity going into the All-Star Game weekend.
