Hawks Announce 2 Free Agent Signings.

The Chicago Blackhawks formally announced two signings this evening. The team inked winger Adam Hall and defenceman Jay Harrison to 3 year contracts. Both are expected to add depth to the big clubs roster with Hall coming in to compete for a spot on the 4th line, while Harrison appears to be the frontrunner to be the team's 7th defenceman.

"We believe we have added two players that despite being in their late twenties still have untapped potential. Our scouts have indentified them as players who can grow into more significant roles as they continue to improve their game's."

In Hall the Hawks have brought in a big bodied winger who is very sound defensively. While he will not be expected to put up big numbers, he could end up being a key presence on the penalty kill.

Harrison adds another body to an already very deep group of defenceman. Like Hall he has excellent size, and plays a solid physical stay at home game. He will likely compete with Nicklas Grossman and Jason Garrison for the last spot on the blueline with the Hawks. In adding him Chicago will now be able to avoid rushing talented youngsters Victor Hedman and Kevin Shattenkirk.

The Hawks are rumoured to still be pursuing another forward via the trade or free agency market.
