Habs pre season report

Its been one year since  stephane boudreau was name general manager . Since then boudreau hired patrick roy as coach , traded the aging core group of the team , drafted  decent prospects . The habs are on the right path . Now heres what to expect from the habs in 2014-2015 .

the forwards

the canadiens  will be counting on four solid lines this year all their forwards could play in the top six  on every team in this league .  Much of the offence should be coming from guys like landesgog , statsny , turris , parenteau , gallager smith and shaw . we also expect young players like huberdeau and chiasson to score some important goals . 

defence 

the defence in 2013 -2014 was the team weakness gm boudreau did adress the problem  by signing free agent alex edler  and  mike weaver and traded for alex goligoski , cody franson and stuart wich give the habs a solid  top six  and in case of injury the habs  will count on simon despres and franky bouillon . 

goalie 

after trading ryan miller last trade deadline the habs were left with only karri ramo in their depht chart in the goalie position , again boudreau fixed the problem by signing free agents craig anderson and nicklas backstrom  also trading for prospect zach fucale .

new captain 

wit h kopitar traded last season the habs were left without a captain  today the canadiens are proud to name gabriel landesgog their new captain  and also named paul statsny and brendan gallager assistant .
