Playing well, GM adds reinforcements
2012-01-24In an effort to support the troops that have played very well this year so far, Rangers GM tapped into his youth to give the team some additional scoring and defensive depth up front.
Heading to Calgary is promising prospect Nazem Kadri. Coming back to New York is C/W PM Bouchard and LW/RW Joel Ward.
"While moving Kadri is not the overall direction we were looking to go in, I felt obligated to the guys in the room to assist the hard work and effort that they have put forth 30 games into the season."
In the last few days, the team has added some additional scoring with Savard and PM Bouchard and a solid checking line winger that can also keep teams honest in their own defensive zone in Joel Ward.
We want to make the Playoffs, we feel as long as we play well defensively, we can. These last 2 trades helps us on offence and on the defensive side of the puck.
